About the product The Ultra 1.8 Meter ABS Pedestal System described in this document activates an alarm when it detects the unique response of an active Ultra•Max® hard tag or disposable label. To detect a tag, the pedestals emit a magnetic field close to the tag’s natural frequency, causing the tag to vibrate or ‘ring’ at the frequency of the field. Once the field is removed, the tag’s energy exponentially rings down at its own natural frequency. It is this ring down that the system detects and analyzes to determine if it must activate an alarm. Features The Ultra 1.8 Meter ABS Pedestal System is a direct replacement of the AMS-1140 Pedestal System. The system is also similar to Ultra•Post VI systems, but the Ultra 1.8 Meter ABS Pedestal System has the following additional features: 1. An open look aesthetic that meets and exceeds competitive offerings. 2. Supports single, dual, and split configurations. 3. Integrated audio and visual alarming: The primary pedestal contains flashing LEDs and audio. The secondary pedestal does not have an alarm output. 4. Jammer detection: The system can detect a nearby jamming device and initiate an alarm to alert store personnel. 5. Dedicated auxiliary receivers and noise connectors. The main controller board has separate connectors for auxiliary receivers. You can use a secondary pedestal and two auxiliary receivers at the same time. 6. Tags-too-close: The system can detect when tags are placed too close to the system. 7. High impact ABS, non-UV, plastic enclosure. 8. Network connectivity through the use of a Local Device Manager (LDM). 9. The system has a single door coverage capability of 0.9 meters (3 feet), a double door coverage capability of 1.8 meters (6 feet), and a split system coverage capability of 3.6 meters (12 feet).
